Punk warehouse spaces
One of the reasons we respect the DSS crew is for the way they bring together a lot of disparate sound systems and scenes at their parties.
We’re all for scene unity - so we thought it was worth posting up a bit about some of the punk spaces in the city south and inner west that co-mingle with other arts and electronic supportive venues.
The two primary ones we’re thinking about are the compound (occasionally referred to as ‘22′) and maggotsville. Of the two, we believe only the latter is still operational as a venue (supporting the scul hazzards tour last weekend).
We haven’t personally checked out either, but admittedly we can’t shake a love for grind, so will probably end up at maggotsville at some point.
There’s a pretty good write-up of both venues here with some legible photos to boot. Or check out the video - semi-OK view of the venue after a minute, pretty shaky in-between.
