Board games back in vogue?

It seems like, everywhere we turn, that hip and arty sydneysiders are playing… board games?

From the venue of the last bodega party (which boasted some sort of chess club on the door), to the fagette duplicator announcing a night of backgammon at officialsydney on tuesday 3rd june.

Actually this last one sounds pretty fun. You get to play on screenprinted backgammon boards with pieces made from spray painted beer caps. There’s the promise of an “outlandish performance”, and booze or turkish tea.

You also get a instructions for play – good for people like us who wouldn’t know where to start. Bring on these social clubs we say.
