Flying Lotus drops in to CDR

We’ve been keeping tabs on this get-together for a few months now.

What attracted us to it initially was that it has a very different (and, we think, welcome) take on nights devoted to producers and original music.

CDR isn’t just about equipment nerds getting all hot n bothered about knobs and faders, this is a music get together for everyone who wants to hear new music,” they say.

“All you have to do is bring down a CDR with 1-3 tracks you are working on, or have just completed, and hand it in before 9:30pm”.

So it’s all about the music then… and by the sounds of things you get to hear lots of very new music, not only from the locals but also internationals as well - including LA hiphop’s Flying Lotus, who is dropping by on wednesday 20th feb.

From 7-8pm it’s basically an open forum to ask Flying Lotus about production, himself, his life, music biz etc. From 8pm-9.30pm they play CDRs from “absent friends”, then after 9.30pm it gets “100% localised” until close.

And if you needed any more excuses to go along, it’s free, and so is the first drink! All happens at Hermanns at Sydney Uni (cnr butlin and city rd), so get on it.
